• White buildup around faucets or on dishes. That chalky residue you keep scrubbing off faucets or spotting on clean dishes. It’s likely hard water.
• Dry skin or irritated hair after showering. Hard water can leave your skin feeling tight and your hair harder to manage. If showers don’t feel as refreshing as they should, a water softener might help.
• Appliances wearing out too soon. Hard water minerals can build up inside appliances like dishwashers and water heaters, causing them to run less efficiently or fail sooner than they should.
• Stiff or dingy laundry. If your clothes feel rough or look a little dull after washing, the minerals in your water could be to blame.
